Fees are guided by the Australian Psychological Society and are adjusted according to individual circumstances such as employment status. You are more than welcome to contact the practice to discuss the costs associated with appointments.
Although it is not a requirement, some people choose to consult their General Practitioner to obtain a psychology referral called a Mental Health Care Treatment Plan (plans can also be obtained from a psychiatrist or pediatrician). By obtaining this type of referral you become eligible for a Medicare rebate which assists in subsidising the cost of scheduled sessions. As David is endorsed to provide Clinical Psychology sessions, a rebate of $124.50 per appointment is available. Currently, up to 10 appointments per calendar year can be subsidised under Medicare. Full payment is required at the time of the appointment and it should be noted that additional services such as assessments and reports have a separate fee structure.
On the spot Medicare claiming facilities are available at all three practice locations. The only requirement is that a Medicare care card and bank card are supplied at the time of payment. Easy payment processing of private health fund rebates is also available electronically via HICAPS.
David provides a range of psychology treatment services some of which attract health insurance rebates or are provided at no cost. A summary of these additional services is below:
As appointments are often scheduled a number of weeks in advance, cancellations at short notice create difficulties for the practice and prevent others in need from attending. Scheduled appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice incur 50% of the session charge whilst cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice incur the full session charge.
